These large, toasted ants have been consumed for centuries, dating back to the indigenous Guane people. Known for their crunchy texture and nutty flavor, they’re often eaten as a snack or used as a topping for dishes. The ants are considered a unique treat and are believed to have aphrodisiac properties.
